A marvellous day cycling
Along premium routes for cycle tourists, you can explore the whole Moselle region for days on end: those who want to spend a week exercising and taking in the culture of indulgence are out and about, always close to the river, on the 275-kilometre long Mosel cycle path from France to Coblenz, getting to know all of the highlights. But not everybody wants to spend their entire Moselle holiday non-stop on a “pushbike”. Smaller day trips, too, bring pure leisure enjoyment with lots of variety, for example, stages on the Maare-Mosel cycle path towards the volcanic Eifel mountains or on the Ruwer-Hochwald cycle path in the Hunsrück mountains. The Ruwer-Hochwald cycle path is around 48 kilometres long and can be managed comfortably in four hours. The required fitness and cycling equipment are at a normal level, therefore the nature adventure is unique. The former railway lines take you from the vineyards into the greenery of an intact woodland and meadow landscape. Around 16-kilometres long, the Salm cycle path from Klüsserath on the Moselle river to the castle in the quaint village Dreis in the Eifel region also provides pure enjoyment for untrained participants right through a lovely stretch of land.
